Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with Mine Health & Safety Act are observed by employees.
  • Plan the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals in the PaSSE and SHARP plans and monitor the safety program and its effectiveness to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Participate in appropriate safety training for all assigned employees.
  • Interface with MSHA and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as required.
  • Follow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as needed.
  • Cover coordination and monitoring of the activities of all electrical employees assigned.
  • Ensure preventative action is taken to avoid the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product or process or to the quality system.

Job Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering minimum, Electrical Engineering Technology, Master Electrician or related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years industrial, mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience; industry background in heavy manufacturing related; mining, paper mills, steel plants, refining, utilities, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants industries preferred.
  • Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions; working knowledge of material handling feeders, convey or belt systems, and general knowledge pumping systems; experience in PLC or Wonderware troubleshooting is required.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP and Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal/people skills; results driven; self-starter; able to initiate and be willing to hold others accountable for achieving company and site objectives.
