About the role
We are looking for an early-career Industrial Designer to join our multidisciplinary product development team in Baltimore, Maryland. We develop advanced technology products for medical, life science, and industrial clients, turning complex technical challenges into intuitive, meaningful user experiences. In this role, you’ll help transform research insights and technical requirements into compelling product concepts through sketching, visualization, CAD modeling, prototyping, and collaboration with designers, engineers, usability specialists, and clients. The work spans user research, concept development, product architecture, usability support, visual storytelling, and design refinement across a wide range of real-world products.
Responsibilities
- Transform research insights and technical requirements into compelling product concepts through sketching, visualization, and CAD modeling.
- Develop prototypes and iterate based on testing and stakeholder feedback.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, usability specialists, and clients to refine product designs.
- Apply design thinking to complex technical problems and translate advanced technologies into intuitive user experiences.
- Support user research, concept development, product architecture, usability, visual storytelling, and design refinement.
Requirements
- Strong skills in Industrial Design and product design, with a focus on user-centered solutions and visual communication.
- Experience with prototyping and product development, including iteration based on testing and stakeholder feedback.
- Ability to apply design thinking to complex technical problems.
- Proficiency with relevant design and CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Rhino, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite) and visualization techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with engineers and other technical disciplines.
- Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and timelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in medical devices, scientific instruments, or other high-tech products is beneficial.
