About the role
The Industrial and Systems Engineering Department (ISE) at San José State University (SJSU) seeks to provide a high-quality education to its students through classroom instruction, hands-on experience, and industry internships. The department offers a variety of courses designed to prepare students for professional careers in fields such as supply chain, operations research, data analytics, engineering management, human factors, and quality engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lecturers are expected to teach their courses effectively and maintain appropriate office hours.
- Candidates must demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population through cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
- All classes must be organized within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
- Teaching responsibilities include designing and implementing courses, grading assignments, and providing feedback to students.
Requirements
- A degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of the subject matter in the area assigned for teaching.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working with a diverse student population.

- Faculty members are required to complete CSU employee training as assigned and required based on their role.
- The position is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and California Faculty Association.
