Individual Support Workers Needed

About the role

Join Owen Health Care Inc. as a Part-Time Individual Support Worker and be part of a team that positively impacts the lives of children and adolescents. You will have the opportunity to utilize your experience in working with youth who have intellectual and developmental disabilities while developing strong relationships with their families and collaborating professionals. Our Individual Support Workers travel to the homes of our children and adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Assist behavioral therapists to create effective behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents
• Implement individualized service plans
• Provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings
• Actively manage youth with behavioral challenges
• Develop and initiate safety standards
• Instruct youth on positive behavioral practices
• Monitor and document observations of youth behavior
• Modify daily activities to align with therapeutic goals
• Develop and implement engaging recreational activities that support emotional and social growth
• Ensure a clean and secure environment for youth to thrive

Requirements

• College degree with one year of experience or High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents
• Prior experience in behavioral interventions
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
