Individual Support Workers Needed
About the role
Join Owen Health Care Inc. as a Part-Time Individual Support Worker and be part of a team that positively impacts the lives of children and adolescents. You will have the opportunity to utilize your experience in working with youth who have intellectual and developmental disabilities while developing strong relationships with their families and collaborating professionals.
Responsibilities
- Utilize your experience in working with youth who have intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Implement individualized service plans
- Provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings
- Develop and initiate safety standards
- Instruct youth on positive behavioral practices
- Monitor and document observations of youth behavior
- Develop and implement engaging recreational activities
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment
Requirements
- College degree with one year of experience or High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents in a supportive and nurturing manner
- Prior experience in behavioral interventions
- A commitment to ongoing professional development
