Individual Giving Manager

About the role

The Children's Home is seeking a Full-Time Individual Giving Manager to join the development team. This position leads the individual gift strategy and solicitation while overseeing the Development Office's administrative infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Fundraising: Designs and manages all fundraising activities and strategies related to individual giving, with an emphasis on annual and mid-level gifts, to reach The Children’s Home's financial goals.
• Cultivation and Stewardship: Develops and implements strategies and activities related to individual giving, including donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, to ensure a high-quality donor experience.
• Strategy Development: Works with the Director of Development to develop strategies for moving supporters along the donor continuum, preparing them for higher annual and major gifts.
• Portfolio Management: Manages a portfolio of prospects; designs and implements creative solicitation and stewardship strategies.
• Work Plan Execution: Executes an annual work plan, including a solicitation timeline and program outlines, to ensure the effective and timely solicitation of donors.
• Reporting: Tracks fundraising progress toward established goals and prepares regular reports on results and strategies.
• Collaboration: Communicates frequently and collaborates with staff, leadership, and volunteers to increase philanthropic support and advance the agency's strategic goals.
• Donor Relations: Collaborates with Donor and Database Coordinator on strategy around The Children’s Home’s acknowledgment process to ensure timely, personalized, and donor-centered acknowledgments across all giving levels.
• Prospect Management: Develops and maintains a comprehensive prospect management system to optimize the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors.

Requirements

• Minimum Skills and Abilities: Bachelor's degree required, minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; background in annual fund management, donor database systems, and individual giving preferred.
• Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of and experience with fundraising techniques and best practices, including moves management, direct mail, and online giving programs.
• Leadership and Problem Solving: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; adept at problem solving and sound judgment.
• Project Management: Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage multi-phase projects from inception to completion, including balancing multiple concurrent priorities.
• Database Management: Experience working with DonorPerfect database management required.
• Nonprofit Experience: Experience working or volunteering for a nonprofit organization required.
• Development Principles: Understanding and knowledge of principles and strategies of nonprofit development.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Staff Supervision: Experience supervising staff and the ability to collaborate across teams and build consensus.
• Travel and Physical Abilities: Commitment to the agency's mission and the communities it serves; ability to travel independently to meet with prospects, donors, and community partners; physical ability to perform job requirements of usual and customary office procedures and communications; ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel locally for business related to The Children's Home; ability to communicate clearly and work with others.
