About the role
Responsible for processing, reviewing, and funding new loan packages presented to the Credit Union for funding by approved dealers. Establish new membership, implement, and develop plans to increase product penetration.
Responsibilities
- Review the file and complete a pre-audit of the loan documents to determine if the loan is ready to close.
- Verify residency and income information before funding packages.
- Ensure all underwriting conditions are met prior to funding.
- Conduct over-the-phone interviews with applicants to determine the authenticity of transactions.
- Verify and determine calculations for dealer reserves, Loan-to-Values (LTV), payments (Reg Z), and communicate errors to dealers and/or applicants by mail or phone.
- Handle and reconcile general ledgers pertinent to dealer reserves and the Indirect Lending process.
- Verify applicants via EFunds/FIS to authenticate identity.
- Follow up with dealers for missing loan documentation and information.
- Process and certify special loan financing programs.
- Prepare all dealer loan packages for final approval, processing, and funding.
- Perform new account opening and all related functions.
- Mail required disclosures to members.
- Adhere to merchandising, telephone, and other professional standards as established by the Credit Union.
- Handle inquiries, concerns, and requests from members and dealers, and escalate to higher authority when necessary.
- Cross-sell additional products via mail or phone.
- Assist with incoming phone calls for both Indirect Lending and Consumer Lending.
- Compile daily tracking detail reports and follow up on files as needed.
- Prepare monthly indirect lending reports.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months of experience in a lending environment preferred.
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
- Excellent organizational skills and very detail-oriented.
- PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with existing and potential members and dealers.
- Must be multi-task oriented.
