About the role
The Inventory Control Specialist ensures the accuracy of data in our internal systems compared to physical inventory counts. This position collaborates across departments to identify issues, resolve trends, and present proactive solutions that serve our customers. Inventory Control Specialists work independently and efficiently across teams, fulfilling responsibilities with precision and care.
Responsibilities
- Run various reports to identify potential systematic inventory issues, investigate appropriately, and resolve problems.
- Search for inaccuracies and errors, such as misplaced stock, while conducting and processing scheduled weekly cycle counts.
- Complete inventory adjustments based on differences between physical counts and research using the company’s ERP system.
- Use forklift equipment to replenish pick bins with overstock product.
- Identify and process damaged inventory throughout the warehouse to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Ensure misplaced or mistakenly picked items are returned to the correct bin location.
- Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment to fulfill job duties and ensure a safe work environment.
- Pick, wrap, and kit list for repack items and transport completed product throughout the warehouse for put-away.
- Meet performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following safety guidelines and reporting hazards.
- Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
- Abide by all company and warehouse policies.
- Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support operations.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
- Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 lbs.
Experience
1+ years of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
Education
This role does not require a degree. Relevant skills, experience, and alignment with core values are prioritized.
Skills
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and order pickers.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a desire to exceed expectations.
