About the role
To provide a supervisory presence within the middle school. Responsible for the in-school suspension room. To assist the school staff in effectively using all appropriate resources to improve the learning environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring and supervising the in-school suspension room.
- Aid school staff in resolving student problems.
- Perform limited work with individual students to improve attendance and overall school performance.
- Maintain attendance and tardiness records of students.
- Supervise corridors, lavatories, parking areas, cafeteria.
- Report problems to counselors, teachers and administrators.
- Report any suspected violations of the law, such as child abuse, illegal drug sales and alcohol use to school administrators.
- Discourage absenteeism and tardiness through personal counseling of students.
- Explain school rules and policies to students and parents.
- Work to resolve conflicts between students.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Basic knowledge and experience with job related computer hardware and software applications.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
