In-House Litigation Counsel/General Counsel-Litigation Focus

About The Role A well-established Los Angeles–area company is seeking an exceptional In-House Litigation/General Counsel to serve as primary legal advisor to the CEO. This is a hands-on, long-term role for a seasoned attorney who thrives in dynamic environments and can handle everything from active litigation to corporate governance to complex transactions. You'll be a no-nonsense problem solver and strategic advisor. You should master new legal areas quickly, find solutions where others see obstacles, manage multiple fast-moving priorities without sacrificing quality, and operate independently with sound judgment under pressure. What You'll Do Handle and personally try civil litigation including business disputes, contract disputes, real estate disputes, and employment issuesServe as primary legal advisor on a broad range of corporate legal mattersDraft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and transactionsAdvise on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory mattersSelect and manage outside counsel relationships when specialized expertise is needed, controlling strategy and budgetIdentify legal risks early and develop practical, business-minded solutionsPartner with executive leadership on strategic business initiatives Requirements J.D. degree and active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California20+ years of diverse legal practiceActive, recent trial experience in civil and business litigationStrong background handling business disputes, contract litigation, employment matters, and real estate disputesProven ability to handle corporate governance, compliance, transactional work, and strategic business counselExceptional negotiation, contract drafting, and risk management skillsEntrepreneurial mindset with comfort managing ambiguityAbility to operate independently and provide strategic counsel to executive leadership Preferred Background at a large law firm of 50+ attorneysPrior in-house or general counsel experience Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $300,000 – $650,000, depending on qualifications and experienceHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off Work Structure Full-time positionHybrid: In-office in Encino, CA with remote flexibilityMonday through Friday
