Import Transportation Agent

Scope of Position

Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Air Import Department.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
• Avoid delays and ensure accurate data entry into our operating system
• Track and trace Air/Ocean Import files as required
• Utilize Workflows on a daily basis
• Ensure timely delivery of freight to customers for Import shipments
• Ensure documents are timely sent to customer or broker for customs purposes
• Accurately and timely bill clients and Service Providers
• Communicate with customers to arrange international shipments, meeting service standards
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers (airlines, trucking companies, etc.)
• Comply with all regulations at all times, including internal policies and procedures and external government regulations or customer policies
• Identify and implement areas for improving efficiency within the department
• Ensure all customers' standard operating procedures are followed and updated
• Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as per company procedures
• Handle overseas communications promptly, responding to emails and requests internally and externally

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of air and/or documentation processes a plus
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills
• Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Fluent in English
