About the role
The role is responsible for managing the importation of goods, handling customs clearance, distribution, and logistics, and ensuring accurate invoicing.
Responsibilities
- Secure necessary documents from the shipper before customs clearance.
- Prepare and issue documents required for importation of goods.
- File entries with CBP and ensure timely filing with no errors.
- Provide documents to government agencies as requested.
- Coordinate customs clearance with Mexican brokers and transfer companies.
- Track shipments and report discrepancies.
- Prepare work orders for distribution and logistics.
- Ensure receiving and shipping clerks complete their tasks.
- Prepare and issue bills of lading for delivery.
- Invoice services provided within 24-48 hours after customs clearance.
- Ensure all applicable fees are invoiced and include those not in the schedule.
- Maintain good planning and organizational skills.
- Comply with all Imperative Logistics policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with one year related experience in imports/exports or training.
- Knowledge of part numbers and applications.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and communicate clearly in English and Spanish.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to follow company policies.
