Implementation Specialist

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Implementation Specialist position with the Center for Practice Innovations (CPI), under the auspices of the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH). CPI promotes the widespread use of evidence-based practices within behavioral health provider agencies across New York State, serving as an Intermediary Organization for implementation. The role supports the new Crisis Engagement Skills Training Institute (CRESTNY), which provides intensive, interdisciplinary, and evidence-informed training, support, education, and consultation to crisis services providers statewide.

About the role

The Implementation Specialist/Trainer will disseminate, implement, and sustain core competencies and best practices for crisis services providers. This position is fully remote, and all applicants must reside in New York State or the NYC region. Occasional travel throughout NYC/NY State is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead training efforts to support core competencies and best practices in behavioral health-related crisis services.
• Lead or co-lead technical assistance efforts (e.g., Communities of Practice, quality improvement projects) to support implementation of core competencies and best practices.
• Develop culturally congruent and equity-driven training materials, including online modules, webinars, and in-person training.
• Develop culturally congruent and equity-driven implementation tools for behavioral health-related crisis service providers, agencies, program leaders, supervisors, practitioners, and service recipients.
• Collaborate with staff across units (e.g., data analysis, online assistance, content/module development, continuing education) to support CRESTNY’s work.
• Work closely with NYS OMH and other CPI initiatives to advance shared goals.

• Familiarity with community services, services for the unhoused, harm reduction, peer support, and carceral systems is preferred.
