About the role
This position is based in San Francisco, CA, and follows a hybrid work model. The targeted experience level for this role is 5-7 years.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with the design and installation of equipment used in transmitting broadband data over in-building networks
- Hands-on experience with coax, twisted pair copper, or fiber optic cabling and complex networks, as well as switching equipment
- Coordinate installation of new in-building networks or equipment
- Evaluate multi-tenant (residence and business) buildings to determine compatibility with different networks and systems
- Manage large build projects involving broadband services, ensuring timely planning and implementation
- Produce technical as-built documentation
- Provide general ad-hoc operational support for local field engineering and sales teams
Requirements
- General knowledge and experience with the design and installation of in-building network architectures
- Ability to identify and prevent work area hazards
- Knowledge and experience with CATV provider termination points (e.g., terminals, pedestals)
- Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting coax and Cat6a Ethernet cabling
- Must possess a vehicle capable of transporting tools and equipment
- Hands-on experience working off ladders (step/extension/folding)
- Hands-on experience with drilling in multiple dwelling/commercial buildings
- Frontline experience working with customers/clients
Desired Skills
- Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and other computer and mobility-based applications
- A four-year college degree or equivalent field experience
- Experience working on multiple dwelling/commercial building rooftops (flat and/or pitched)
