About the Role
Hands-on experience with the design and installation of equipment used in transmitting broadband data over in-building networks. Experience with coordinating installation of new in-building networks or equipment. Ability to evaluate multi-tenant (residence and business) buildings to determine compatibility with different networks and systems. Experience with managing large build projects involving broadband services, ensuring timely planning and implementation. Ability to provide general ad-hoc operational support for local field engineering and sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and install equipment for broadband data transmission over in-building networks
- Coordinate installation of new in-building networks or equipment
- Evaluate multi-tenant buildings for network and system compatibility
- Manage large build projects involving broadband services
- Produce technical as-built documentation
- Provide ad-hoc operational support for field engineering and sales teams
- Test and troubleshoot coax and Cat6a Ethernet cabling
- Work off ladders (step/extension/folding) and drill in multiple dwelling/commercial buildings
- Work with customer/clients on the frontline
Requirements
- General knowledge and experience with the design and install of in-building network architectures
- General work area hazard identification and prevention
- Knowledge and experience with CATV provider termination points (e.g., terminals, pedestals)
- Hands-on experience with coax, twisted pair copper, or fiber optic cabling and complex networks, as well as switching equipment
- Must possess a vehicle capable of transporting tools and equipment
- Hands-on experience working off ladders (step/extension/folding)
- Hands-on experience with drilling in multiple dwelling/commercial buildings
Desired Skills
- Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and other computer and mobility-based applications
- A four-year college degree or equivalent field experience
- Experience working on multiple dwelling/commercial building rooftops (flat and/or pitched)
