IMPLANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

About the role

The selected candidate will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment in the ATMC Fab Implant area. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, as well as scheduled maintenance, consumable changes, and other activities to ensure area success.

The role requires interfacing with internal and external groups to meet safety, performance, and reliability requirements, adhering to safety protocols around hazardous chemicals, completing documentation, and training others. The position involves working compressed shifts, either days or nights.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fab equipment.
• Improve system performance to meet process requirements and eliminate repetitive tool breakdowns.
• Monitor and analyze tool data, recommend and implement improvements to maintenance procedures.
• Work with engineers to design and execute equipment improvement projects.
• Communicate machine status verbally in daily pass-down meetings and provide clear written updates to engineers and technicians on other shifts.
• Diagnose equipment alarms, interpret operational data, and create action plans as needed.
• Sustain equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment with minimal direction.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electronic skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, project management skills, and knowledge of SPC in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift.
• Basic computer skills, proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong work ethic with verifiable references.

Preferred (but not required) experience on the following toolsets:

• AMAT Viistas
• Axcelis GSDs
• AMAT Quantums

Preferred (but not required) rebuild/repair experience:

• ION Sources
• Flood Guns
• Aperture Electrodes
• Electromagnetic Energy Reflectors

AA, AS, or AAS in electronics or other industrial engineering-related disciplines is preferred. Equivalent experience or military training may satisfy formal education requirements.
