About the Role

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is the flagship academic medical center of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), including a 789-bed downtown Baltimore campus and a 177-bed midtown campus one mile north. UMMC is home to the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center and The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, the highest-volume trauma center in the United States.
This full-time, rotating shift position is split between the UMMC campus and the Midtown Campus.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate orthopaedic implants and inventory for surgical cases
- Interact with implant vendors and manage implant case details
- Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of implants used in orthopaedic procedures
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist or OR Nurse
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a Trauma Orthopaedic setting
- Minimum of three years’ direct experience with orthopaedic implants, inventory management, and vendor interaction
- Minimum of three years’ direct exposure to cleaning and sterilization processes for orthopaedic implants
