About the role

Airbus is looking for an Immigration Specialist (Contract) to join the Global Mobility team in Herndon, Va.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee immigration processes and procedures to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Federal immigration laws.
  • Coordinate legal advice and recommendations from immigration vendors and ensure they meet or exceed service delivery and support requirements.
  • Interface and serve as the central point of escalation for all immigration-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Manage vendors, internal stakeholders, deadlines, projects, and drive operational excellence and continuous process/efficiency improvements.
  • Provide regular case status updates, visa analysis, and immigration business reviews based on regularly generated dashboards and reports.
  • Review and document established immigration processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Ensure all immigration workflows and processes are properly documented and mapped, sharing standard operational procedures with GM team members and key stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery in alignment with company strategies and objectives.
  • Partner with vendors to conduct data integrity, case, and system audits, and implement key account management practices.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in US immigration or global mobility in a large manufacturing or immigration law firm setting.

Qualifications

  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize workload, and multitask.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact within all levels of the organization.
  • Fluency in French, German, or Spanish preferred.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of US immigration laws and regulations.
  • Experience managing immigration vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex immigration scenarios.

Pay

Competitive base salary and incentive compensation.

Schedule

Onsite 80%, Remote 20%.

Physical Requirements

  • Daily: Able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment, hear to participate in conversations, speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications, operate most office and personal electronic equipment, and use production tools.
  • Several Times a Week: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Rarely: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: Rarely able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Rarely: Able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
