Immigration Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for employment-based immigration matters.
  • Independently manage employment-based immigration workflows while partnering with outside immigration counsel to facilitate timely case progression.
  • Career coordination of employment-based immigration processes, including H-1B, H-4, PERM, LCAs, I-140s, amendments, extensions, and other employment-based immigration matters.
  • Partner with People Operations, Employment Counsel, hiring managers, and employees to facilitate immigration processes and provide guidance regarding case status, documentation, and next steps.
  • Identify immigration-related issues, proactively coordinate appropriate action, and escalate matters when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate immigration records, case tracking systems, reporting, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor immigration timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of filings and related employment actions.
  • Support immigration compliance initiatives while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy throughout the immigration lifecycle.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organization while delivering exceptional service to employees and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent, hands-on employment-based immigration experience required.
  • Experience supporting employment-based immigration within either an in-house corporate immigration, People Operations, HR, Global Mobility, or Legal Operations function, or a business immigration law firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage employment-based immigration matters and drive immigration workflows from initiation through completion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment-based immigration processes, including H-1B, H-4, PERM, LCAs, I-140s, amendments, extensions, and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience partnering with outside immigration counsel and coordinating complex employment-based immigration matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and immigration case management or tracking systems preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting immigration programs within a technology company or other fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Experience working directly with People Operations, Human Resources, Employment Counsel, or Global Mobility teams.
  • Experience serving as the primary internal resource for employment-based immigration within an organization.
