IMMIGRATION LAW ATTORNEY

About the role

Central West Justice Center (CWJC), a subsidiary of Community Legal Aid, is seeking an immigration law attorney to join its Worcester office. The attorney will provide legal assistance in a range of humanitarian‑based immigration matters, focusing on removal defense work, largely for non‑detained individuals. The position is funded by a state grant under the Massachusetts Access to Counsel Initiative (MACI), which expands access to counsel for Massachusetts noncitizens in removal proceedings and includes specialized training and mentorship. In addition to direct client representation, the attorney will assist in preparing periodic grant reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide removal defense representation, primarily for non‑detained individuals.
• Assist in the preparation of periodic grant reports related to the MACI funding.
