Schedule
- Rotating shifts: days, evenings, nights
- Weekend and holiday rotation required per contract
- Primary start time: 3 p.m.–11 p.m.; secondary start time: 7 a.m.–8 a.m.
- Shifts vary; may rotate to offsite locations
About the role
Transports patients, equipment, and supplies to and from all departments on the Mt. St. Mary’s campus. Delivers patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation tailored to the ages of patients served.
Responsibilities
- Answer telephone
- Maintain patient charts
- Operate diagnostic equipment, fax, photocopier, and computer
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- On-the-job training provided
Working conditions
- Exposure to infectious and contagious diseases, hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids and wastes
- Exposure to electrical and radiant energy hazards, odorous chemicals, and specimens
- Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
- Varying and unpredictable situations; frequent interruptions
- Occasional irregular hours and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
Required protective equipment: gown, lead apron, gloves, shields, mask, sterile and non-sterile medical gloves.
