Perform a wide variety of routine and advanced MRI imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists as needed, and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as required. Troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees, prepare maintenance and repairs, and ensure MRI safety. Adhere to and maintain expected imaging competencies as outlined by management.

  • Perform duties in a manner that protects patient confidentiality and only disclose confidential information when necessary for assigned job duties.
  • Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as required by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
  • Perform examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the Manager’s license(s), certification(s), and documented competencies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required.
  • Ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
  • Follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues to the PACS administrator or designee if needed.
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; perform appropriate follow-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Basic computer experience required.

Qualifications

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) certification from ARRT or ARMRIT required within 1 year of hire.
  • State Licensure required if in New Mexico.
  • MRT by MIRTP NMED.
  • BLS certification required.
