Diagnostic Imaging Transporter

About the role

This position involves safely transporting inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and timely delivery to diagnostic and treatment areas. The role also includes assisting radiologic technologists with mobile imaging procedures in hospitals, nursing homes, correctional facilities, and other off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Transport inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department patients safely and comfortably to diagnostic and treatment areas
• Assist radiologic technologists with mobile imaging procedures at hospitals, nursing homes, correctional facilities, and other off-site locations
• Deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Perform limited phlebotomy procedures, including I-STAT specimen collection, and ensure accurate specimen handling and transportation to the laboratory
• Insert intravenous (IV) catheters in accordance with departmental protocols and patient care standards
• Complete clerical duties, including answering phones, retrieving and filing patient records, and maintaining accurate documentation
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control and safety policies
• Collaborate with radiology staff, nursing personnel, and laboratory teams to support efficient patient care and departmental workflow
• Assist with the supervision, mentoring, and evaluation of students during clinical rotations and participate in ongoing clinical education initiatives
• Perform additional departmental duties as assigned to support high-quality patient care and operational excellence
