About the role
The Patient Transporter will safely and efficiently transport patients to and from the Operating Room, PACU, and outpatient services while following strict safety and infection control protocols. They will also support operating room turnover by assisting with cleaning, equipment movement, restocking supplies, and coordinating with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing staff to ensure smooth workflow and room readiness.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport patients to and from the Operating Room (OR), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Outpatient Services.
- Absorb and communicate effectively with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing staff to coordinate patient movement and room readiness.
- Follow strict infection control, safety, and hospital protocols during all transport and room turnover activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, storage areas, and transport carts.
- Support team workflow by anticipating needs and responding promptly to requests from OR staff.
- Observe and report any patient concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Previous CNA experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds and operate/move equipment and supplies safely.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range; ability to reach overhead, sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and support staff.
- Ability to remain calm, prioritize tasks, and perform effectively in fast-paced or stressful perioperative environments.

Pay
Commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-Time, Nights. Monday-Friday, 1 PM - 9:30 PM.
