ILS Program Manager - Independent Living Services

About the role

The ILS Program Manager provides necessary instruction, direction, and oversight in all aspects of staff implementation of training and maintains individuals' independence and safety in the community. They ensure daily operations, follow agency policies and philosophies, operational budget and guidelines, and Regional Center policies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare teaching material for Independent Living Skills Services Training.
  • Site train individual clients in money management, nutrition, cooking, comparison shopping, emergency procedures, community awareness, mobility, laundry procedures, household management, sex/public health education, medical procedures, counseling, and crisis intervention.
  • Schedule and deliver monthly staff meetings and monthly individual meetings with staff.
  • Oversee payroll and regional center billing process.
  • Coordinate client training programs with other programs.
  • Compile and review Individual Service Plans.
  • Write semi-annual Progress Reports.
  • Ensure completion of monthly Program Hours sheets.
  • Report suspected abuse or unusual incidents.
  • Complete special incident reports.
  • Quality assure client files.
  • Market to agencies and schools regarding the ILS Program.
  • Participate in Inter-Disciplinary Team meetings.
  • Perform QA reviews.
  • Prepare monthly budget and department reports.
  • Attend Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, Agency Team Meetings, and other meetings and training sessions as directed by administration.
  • Cooperate with other in-home services.
  • Complete and submit time sheets, mileage, and other compensation reports in a timely manner.
  • Work under stressful conditions and remain calm and objective.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and other agencies.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions and proper body mechanics.
  • Report workplace safety issues, consumer injuries, consumer threats, and worker injuries.
  • Complete company training curriculum and other trainings as prescribed by administration.

Requirements

  • BA degree or equivalent in a human services delivery field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
  • One year ILS experience or special education teaching experience.
  • One year of administrative responsibility, including staff supervision, operational budgets, service design implementation, staff development and training, program evaluation, and goal direction.
  • Some evidence of competency in training in the areas we teach, preferably behavioral training.
  • Knowledge of Regional Center and Systems serving Developmentally Disabled.
  • Willingness to update certifications, clearances, and reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Valid California driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Current vehicle registration and use of a vehicle in good condition.
  • Valid automobile insurance meeting minimum coverage requirements.
  • Criminal background check through DOJ fingerprint clearance.
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen and random drug test.
  • Pass employment record checks for punctuality, good work attendance, and reliability.
  • Passport or valid travel documents for international travel.

Skills

  • Knowledge of personal health-care practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of the principles of home management.
  • Knowledge of the elements of nutrition and meal planning.
  • Knowledge of first aid skills and home safety.
  • Knowledge of the aging process, developmental disabilities, and accompanying behavior changes.
  • Knowledge of emotional problems accompanying illness.
  • Knowledge of vulnerable adult reporting laws.
  • Ability to use appropriate lifting and transfer methods with clients.
  • Ability to accept and adapt to varying life styles and home environments.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to retain confidentiality of home conditions and situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and remain calm and objective.

Pay

$73,000 - $88,000 DOE plus a great benefits package.
