Independent Living (ILS) & Employment Support Staff
About the role
Strategies to Empower People (STEP) is hiring full-time Independent Living Skills (ILS) & Employment Services Staff to provide in-person support for disabled adults receiving ILS and employment services in the greater Sacramento area. Skills staff provide instruction and support for clients working on developing daily living skills and job skills.
This includes support with activities such as:
- Assisting with accessing programs such as Cal-Fresh, SSI, Housing, etc.
- Budgeting support and guidance
- On-site job skill training and support
- Social engagement and development
- Personal growth and health management
Requirements
- Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion
- Must have at least one (1) year of related professional experience with independent living, employment skills training, education, or other similar professions
- Must be able to drive, which requires a current CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and a clear Motor Vehicle Record
Pay
The pay rate for this position ranges from $23–$26 per hour, depending on verifiable, related experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time (32+ hours per week) position that operates primarily in the field (not a work-from-home position). It has a flexible schedule that adapts to the needs of its caseload but typically operates between the hours of 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
Location
Support is provided in the Greater Sacramento area, which can include South Sacramento, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, and other surrounding areas.
