About the role

Independent Living Skills Instructor (Full-Time)

We work one-on-one with people with developmental disabilities to empower your clients to reach their personal goals of independence and community participation. You would teach independent living skills in a motivating, personalized, and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach independent living skills including money management, medical and dental care, basic cooking, public transportation, housing, and benefit utilization.
• Plan and participate in at least one community outing per month with each client to support skill building, social engagement, and independence.
• Support clients in achieving community involvement and socialization goals.
• Work independently while communicating with your team and supervisor.
• Follow through with commitments and respond to unexpected challenges.

Requirements

• A desire to help others.
• Access to a reliable vehicle, valid drivers license, and auto insurance.
• Pass a DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance.
