About the role
Atlas is seeking an IH Technician 1 to support AHERA inspections for New York City Department of Education facilities throughout the five boroughs. In this hands-on field position, you will work alongside experienced investigators to perform asbestos inspections, collect samples, and help maintain safe learning environments for students, educators, and communities.
Responsibilities
- Support AHERA asbestos inspections at NYC school facilities during scheduled project hours (typically 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM).
- Collect bulk samples in accordance with project requirements and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate field documentation and inspection records.
- Assist with the preparation of asbestos management plans and related project deliverables.
- Collaborate with investigators, project teams, and clients to support successful project execution.
- Follow Atlas safety, quality, and compliance standards while working in the field.
Requirements
- Current New York State Asbestos Inspector License.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and drive as needed for project assignments.
- Ability to read and interpret project documentation, maps, and directions.

Pay
$27.00 hourly rate.
