ICW Parenting Time Child Welfare Coordinator

About the role

The White Earth Reservation Tribal Council is seeking a qualified applicant to administer the supervised visitation program. This includes facilitating scheduled supervised visits, oversight of locations and staff, and ensuring procedures are followed. The goal is to serve children and families involved with Indian Child Welfare by providing a safe, secure environment to support healthy connections during times of separation. This position uses a strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide program leadership and ensure policies and procedures are updated and followed
• Develop partnerships with ICW, family preservation, foster care, courts, and GALs
• Supervise and train parenting staff, provide clinical supervision, debrief with staff, and offer guidance
• Oversee documentation and reports
• Provide safe, structured visitation for children when parents are separated
• Supervise family interactions and time spent together
• Prepare visitation room with toys and activities ahead of scheduled visits
• Provide materials and support to ensure productive interactions between adults and children

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field
• Minimum of two years’ experience working with children and/or families
• Must complete all required ongoing higher education and/or certification at the agency’s expense and time
• Must obtain or be able to obtain parenting education certification within 6 months of employment
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of employment

Skills

• Knowledge of and ability to follow policies and procedures of the White Earth Tribal Council and Indian Child Welfare Department
• Knowledgeable in parenting curriculum and implementation
• Knowledgeable in billing, budgets, finances, and sustainability
• Knowledgeable in mandated reporting laws and trauma-informed practice
• Skilled in written documentation and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Skilled in de-escalation, transition techniques, and stabilizing situations
• Skilled in verbal and written communication with colleagues, partners, and management
• Skilled in staff supervision, clinical supervision, and debriefing techniques
• Skilled in recognizing and responding to vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue
• Skilled in maintaining wellness in the workplace
• Skilled in IV-E child welfare training, education, reimbursements, and staff credentialing
• Skilled in record maintenance
• Able to work independently with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Able to handle emergency situations and manage multiple staff and visitation schedules

Pay

$26.23 per hour or DOQ
