ICU Technician - Neurosurgery - FT - Evenings
About the role
As an ICU Technician in Neurosurgery at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center, you will be an invaluable care provider at the bedside for patients and families. You will bring comfort, calm, and compassion, performing critical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing. Collaborating with nurses and nursing attendants, you will help raise the standard of patient care and ensure excellence in clinical practices.
This is a full-time evening shift position, scheduled from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including comfort and support to patients and families.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing.
- Collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Act as the eyes and ears of the nursing department, ensuring timely and accurate clinical support.
- Demonstrate expertise in clinical procedures to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of current Nursing Attendant experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Successful completion of a skills inventory of a Nursing Attendant.
- Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.
- Must live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) as on-site presence is required.

Pay
Salary range: $29.93 - $32.07 per hour.
