ICU Technician – Neurosurgery – FT – Nights

Shift: Night (11:00 PM – 7:15 AM)

Committed to care, our ICU Technicians bring comfort, calm, and compassion to patients and families. They excel in critical moments such as drawing blood and performing EKGs—where expertise and superior service make all the difference. As the eyes and ears of an award-winning nursing department, ICU Technicians collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to raise the bar and Put Patients First. This role involves taking initiative and balancing patient care with clinical practices, including phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing.

This is a full-time night shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide comfort, calm, and compassion to patients and families at the bedside.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing.
• Collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Serve as the eyes and ears of the nursing department, ensuring excellence in clinical practices.
• Balance patient care with clinical responsibilities, taking initiative as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of current Nursing Attendant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Successful completion of a skills inventory of a Nursing Attendant.
• Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.
• Must live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) as on-site presence is required; NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Pay

Salary Range: $29.93 - $32.07 per hour.
