JOB SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a Nurse Manager - ICU for a Full Time, day position at Bellingham, WA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate compassion, respect and caring while providing individualized, safe and efficient care to patients with an interdisciplinary team and assist families and visitors.
- Manage and coordinate activities on the nursing unit with responsibility for results including costs, methods and staffing for 24-hour nursing operations.
- Supervise personnel, staff performance and patient outcomes, procure and retain staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide patient care.
- Evaluate work performance and conduct annual performance assessments.
- Delegate and coordinate responsibility for completion of departmental projects, tasks, and activities.
- Aid in the implementation of strategic initiatives for the department and identify, assess, and respond to issues and problems affecting goal achievement.
- Manage staffing levels to provide optimal patient care within resource limits.
- Maintain quality of care by aligning assigned unit(s) with hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards; adhere to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements; measure health outcomes against standards; make or recommend adjustments.
- Deliver financial results for area(s) of accountability.
- Maintain collaborative and cooperative relationships with other departments and divisions; facilitate operational, quality, performance, and change initiative implementation.
- May perform patient care duties.
- Develop and support clinical excellence, environment of care.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree from an accredited school of nursing upon hire.
- Minimum of two years of leadership experience demonstrating progressive leadership responsibility (e.g., in Charge Nurse or supervisory role).
- Minimum of five years of related RN experience.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state where nurse will be practicing.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
- Current ACLS certification required at date of hire.
- Financial and budgetary knowledge and experience.
