ICT Teacher
About the role
Sedgemoor Manor School is seeking an ICT Teacher to join their SEND school community. The position involves delivering ICT lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with autism spectrum conditions (ASC).
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum for ICT (up to KS4)
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students
- Create a supportive, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that facilitates active learning
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student learning and well-being
- Manage classroom behavior in a manner that promotes self-discipline and respect among pupils
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Engage with school policies and contribute to a positive school ethos
- Maintain accurate records of assessments of learning and progress of each student and match against aspirational and appropriate targets
- Work cohesively with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to follow care plans and assist in creating educational schemes of work
- Provide the highest standards of professional practice and safeguarding
Requirements
The successful candidate must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications, with proven experience teaching above KS2 and a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching methodologies.

About the School
Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 7 and 19 years. The school supports young people with a wide range of learning difficulties and aims to transform their lives by providing a 'culture of success'. The school is set in a calm idyllic site with several buildings for small teaching groups (maximum 6 pupils) to engage and learn. The school accepts that young people who are referred to them may have previously experienced a 'cycle of failure' and aims to provide them with the tools to succeed.
