About the role

The ICT Engineer II will work with senior design staff to advance ICT design skills for commercial building design and construction. This role involves hands-on application in designing a wide variety of low-voltage projects, collaborating with the Engineering and Project Management Teams to produce construction documents, assist in project specifications, and support the construction administration process. The ICT Engineer II will receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects, exercising discretion and independent judgment. May serve as lead on routine projects of limited scope.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Production of Low Voltage System (ICT, Security, A/V) Engineering Deliverables (75%)
    • Support the production of BIM/CAD deliverables including Revit models and AutoCAD drawings to meet project design requirements.
    • Perform intermediate design tasks under a senior engineer’s supervision.
    • Provide project delivery support, including electronic document and BIM model management.
    • Collaborate with other technical trade leads (MEP, BAS, EPMS, ICT) to ensure multi-discipline coordination.
    • Complete assigned BIM/CAD production work within budget and deadlines.
  • Assist in Pre-Construction Activities (10%)
    • Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports of findings.
    • Collect data and other information for construction documents.
    • Prepare project design and construction documents.
    • Perform basic editing and writing of project specifications.
  • Assist in Construction Activities (15%)
    • Review shop drawings and submittals.
    • Review and respond to RFIs.
    • Review and complete punch lists and project close-out documents.
    • Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI logs.
  • Technology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency
    • Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset.
    • Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows.
  • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of networking (copper and fiber optic) systems, cabling, and components.
  • Advanced knowledge of Audio Visual (AV), Access Control, and CCTV systems and components.
  • Skilled in using AutoCAD and Revit Computer Aided Design tools.
  • Skilled in using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) with exceptional organizational skills for file management.
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows and optimize operational processes.
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for technical and non-technical information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and serve as primary point of contact when needed.
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace.
  • Ability to work in interdepartmental groups.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently manipulating, moving, or grasping small parts, devices, or tools.
  • Frequently required to remain in a stationary position.
  • Frequently moving through office, critical facility, and other environments (including low/high temperatures and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind), including tight and confined spaces.
  • Frequently descending/ascending stairs and ladders to access equipment.
  • Occasionally positioning self under or over equipment.
  • Occasionally moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Travel / Relocation

Up to 10% travel may be required, including travel to any or all 50 US states for client sites, meetings, business development, industry conferences, or other business-related activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field OR
  • One year of additional experience producing construction documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD with a focus on low-voltage design.
  • Minimum of three years of experience producing construction documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD with a focus on low-voltage design.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $83,000 – $104,125 USD per year (Remote, United States).
