About the role
The ICT Designer II will have the opportunity to work with senior design staff to advance their ICT design skills for commercial building design and construction. They will learn, through hands-on application, how to design a wide variety of low voltage projects. This person will work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with the Project Management Team to produce construction documents, assist in project specifications and assist in the construction administration process.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the production of low voltage system (ICT, Security, A/V) engineering deliverables
- Support the production of BIM/CAD deliverables including Revit models and AutoCAD drawings to meet the design requirements of the project
- Provide project delivery support to the project team, including electronic document and BIM model management as required to facilitate project submissions and completion of deliverables
- Collaborate with other technical trade leads (MEP, BAS, EPMS, ICT) to ensure multi-discipline coordination
- Assist in pre-construction activities such as surveying existing building conditions and preparing technical reports of findings
- Assist in construction activities such as reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, reviewing and completing punch lists, and preparing project progress reports
Requirements
- Knowledge of networking (copper and fiber optic) systems, cabling, and components
- Knowledge of Audio Visual (AV), Access Control and CCTV systems and components
- Skilled at using AutoCAD, Revit
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Exceptional organizational skills for file management
- Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
- Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
- Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
- Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
- Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Physical demands include frequently manipulating, moving or grasping small parts, devices or tools, remaining in a stationary position, moving through office, critical facility and other environments, including tight and confined spaces, descending / ascending stairs and ladders to access equipment, positioning self under or over equipment, and moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering, construction or related discipline
- Minimum of three years of experience producing construction documents using Revit and / or AutoCAD with a focus on low voltage design
- Plus one year of additional experience producing construction documents using Revit and / or AutoCAD with a focus on low voltage design

Pay
