About the role

This position assists with maintaining, controlling, and monitoring all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention, and Performing Arts Centers. The main responsibility is to produce the best possible service and ice for clients and patrons while maintaining ice resurfacers and leading the Ice Crew.

Responsibilities

• Plan, address ice issues, and resolve problems in accordance with Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws.
• Ensure proper safety precautions are followed by yourself and the Ice Crew.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks on the Zamboni and maintain records per the Zamboni manual.
• Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness after each event.
• Maintain and operate ice resurfacers, ensuring they are clean and in good operating condition.
• Oversee building maintenance functions, including carpentry, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and cleaning.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience driving ice resurfacers, including maintenance and features.
• Technical knowledge of tools and equipment for carpentry, painting, cleaning, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Previous experience in a similar facility environment and/or a technical degree in engineering or vocational certificate preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to access all areas of the Facilities.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform physical labor and endure cold temperatures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems and building maintenance functions.
• Ability to operate Zamboni and Ice Edger.
