Ice Tech / Zamboni Driver

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining, controlling, and monitoring all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention, and Performing Arts Centers.
• Produce the best possible service and ice for clients and patrons.
• Maintain and keep ice resurfacers clean and in good operating condition, ensuring the highest quality in all aspects of ice making and rink maintenance.
• Serve as Team Leader of the Ice Crew.
• Plan, address ice issues, and resolve problems in accordance with Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws.
• Ensure proper safety precautions are used by yourself and the Ice Crew.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks on the Zamboni and maintain proper records per the Zamboni manual.
• Inspect assigned areas of responsibility for cleanliness after each event.
• Demonstrate knowledge of building maintenance functions, including carpentry, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and cleaning.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience driving ice resurfacers, as well as their features and maintenance.
• Technical knowledge of tools and equipment needed for carpentry, painting, cleaning, and other maintenance tasks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems and building maintenance functions.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to access all areas of the Facilities.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform physical labor and endure cold temperatures.
• Ability to operate Zamboni and Ice Edger.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar facility environment and/or a technical degree in engineering or a vocational certificate preferred.
