Zamboni Driver - Ice Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Zamboni Driver to maintain high-quality ice surfaces in our ice arenas. The role involves operating resurfacing equipment, cleaning facilities, and assisting customers.

Responsibilities

• Resurfaces ice as scheduled
• Maintain ice center upkeep including cleaning, taking out trash, and monitoring ice temperature
• Collects ice center revenue as required
• Assists Recreation Workers, as assigned
• Maintains positive professional working relationships with all staff levels, other jurisdictions, and outside agencies and the general public
• Communicates effectively and interacts respectfully with others
• Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or willing to obtain within 45 days
• Ice resurfacing experience
• Experience working with the public or providing customer service
• Able to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age or older
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
• Detail-oriented and able to follow through with tasks
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently with general guidance from the ice center management
• Ability to work cooperatively with City Personnel, external vendors, and the public

Skills

• Skate sharpening proficiency
• Back-up Concession stand and Pro-Shop as necessary
