ICE CREW

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-game, intermission, and post-game ice maintenance, including glass cleaning, shoveling, scraping, and flooding the ice surface
• Aid with the application of water and other treatments to maintain optimal ice conditions
• Operate the parade zam for fan rides during pre-game, intermissions, and post-game
• Identify and repair ice imperfections, divots, and cracks to ensure a smooth and safe playing surface
• Assist with the installation and removal of ice for the start and end of the season, as well as during arena conversions
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational procedures related to ice maintenance and equipment
• Work collaboratively with arena operations staff, game day personnel, and other crew members
• Assist with general arena setup and breakdown tasks as needed to support overall event operations
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding ice conditions, equipment status, and any issues

Qualifications

• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including shoveling, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods in a cold environment
• Comfortable working in cold temperatures and a loud arena environment for prolonged durations
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of ice quality
• Proven reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace rules
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the event schedule
• Prior experience in ice maintenance, arena operations, or a similar physically demanding role is a plus, but not required
• Skating experience is preferred

Schedule

We are flexible with schedules, but events typically occur evenings, weekends, and holidays.
