ICC Special Inspector

Responsibilities
Perform complex field testing and inspection of construction materials to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
Prepare detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations.
Conduct basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepare reports of results.
Evaluate site conditions on construction projects and provide recommendations.
Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
An ICC Certification in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete is required, or at least 1 year of relevant Engineering Intern (EI) experience.
ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1 certification is preferred.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Skills in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs. on a continual basis in all weather conditions.
Willingness to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening, including a background investigation, drug screening, and driving record check.
Valid, clean driver’s license required due to travel to job sites.
Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill travel requirements.
Qualifications
