Responsibilities
- Perform complex field testing and inspection of construction materials to ensure compliance with construction plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepare reports of results.
- Evaluate site conditions on construction projects and provide recommendations.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An ICC Certification in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete is required, or at least 1 year of relevant Engineering Intern (EI) experience.
- ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1 certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs. on a continual basis in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening, including a background investigation, drug screening, and driving record check.
- Requires a valid, clean driver’s license and must be able to travel to job sites.
- Maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill travel requirements.
