IAD Baggage Handler

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Customer Service - Baggage Handler, responsible for assisting passengers with the proper transportation of their luggage.

Responsibilities

• Meet all arrivals and assist passengers at baggage claim.
• Loading or otherwise transporting passenger luggage to and from the outside sidewalk or main entrance of the airport and the inside ticket counter.
• Aiding in the proper handling of oversized luggage, kennels, and skis.
• Ensuring passenger luggage is placed in the belt within the designated time frame.
• Adhering to required security procedures and hazardous material handling requirements.
• Maintaining and restocking baggage supplies.
• Replenishing tubs.
• Maintaining a clean, safe work area at all times.
• Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to communicate effectively through the English language.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds or more for up to 2/3 of the work shift.
• The work environment has a moderate to high noise level.
• The work environment is both inside and outside of the airport terminal.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to communicate effectively through the English language
• Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of customer service or similar work experience preferred
• General Company Requirements: Employees must comply with the Company’s uniform and grooming standards and must wear his or her SIDA badge/Airport ID at all times. Employees must comply with all guidelines and policies outlined in ABM Aviation’s Employee Handbook.

Pay: $18.13 per hour
