About the role
The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Designer is responsible for preparing electrical and instrumentation design deliverables for industrial projects under the direction of a Lead Designer or Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Develops construction drawings, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, conduit and cable tray layouts, cable schedules, material takeoffs, and other design documentation.
- Performs field surveys.
- Supports both brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Collaborates with engineering teams to produce accurate, code-compliant designs for industrial facilities.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Drafting, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- 5–10 years of electrical and instrumentation design experience in industrial, petrochemical, refining, pipeline, power generation, or similar facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD with experience developing E&I construction drawings.
- Working knowledge of industrial power distribution, motor controls, grounding, lighting, conduit and cable tray routing, instrumentation, control systems, and material takeoffs.
- Experience performing field surveys and supporting brownfield projects preferred.
- Current TWIC card, OSHA 10/30, AutoCAD certification, NCCER certification, or equivalent technical training preferred.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain required client site credentials.
