I&E Designer
Job Scope
Generally responsible for performing routine design of less complex design assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex electrical and instrumentation assignments. This work will be performed under close supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with direction of Engineer and/or Sr Designer and interface with other disciplines.
- Meet all deadlines as required by project schedule.
- Perform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, as-building existing systems, etc.
- Able and willing to learn Senior design skills to continue to grow and support the department needs.
- MTO Material Take Off - Estimating required material for projects.
- Design, Review and Maintain all manner of I&E drawings including but not limited to, P&I’s, single lines, motor schematics, I/O Drawings, Panel schedules and loadings, Cable tray routes, CCS and M&E databases.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- E&I designer with 5+ years’ experience in the design of Instrumentation and Electrical Systems including, but not limited to, PLC, DCS, Motor Schematics, P&I’s, single lines and logic drawings.
- Proficient in MicroStation, Excel and Word and PDMS\E3D experience a plus.
- Demonstrate the ability to design in congested operating areas and must have fieldwork experience.
- Ability to work in an operating chemical plant in the heat and humidity of South Mississippi.
- Prefer MicroStation but would consider AutoCAD.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
