Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold E2 Optics' Core Values through leadership, professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and commitment to quality execution.
  • Independently execute network validation activities across hyperscale data center infrastructure while ensuring compliance with customer specifications and E2 Optics quality standards.
  • Perform comprehensive audits of various network components and infrastructure elements.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve standard network issues, including fiber contamination, mispatching, connector damage, polarity issues, improper routing, and cable damage.
  • Perform permanent link testing and interpret OTDR traces to identify connector losses, splice losses, reflection events, fiber breaks, excessive attenuation, and installation defects.
  • Perform fiber optic testing using various tools and interpret customer loss budgets and BERT testing results.
  • Support customer walkdowns, commissioning activities, turnover inspections, and quality verification efforts.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, audit accuracy, network quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain organized work areas, testing equipment, customer assets, and project documentation.
  • Travel as required by E2 Optics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • OSHA 10 required.
  • Completion of all required customer onboarding and project-specific training.
  • Experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, fiber optics, data center construction, network infrastructure, mission critical construction, or related technical fields.
  • Experience independently performing structured cabling audits and troubleshooting.
  • Experience utilizing fiber optic testing equipment.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center projects preferred.

  • BICSI Installer 2 Copper
  • BICSI Installer 2 Fiber
  • BICSI Technician
  • EXFO Tier I & Tier II Certification
  • Corning TS-LAN-500 or equivalent
  • OSHA 30
  • MEWP Certification
  • First Aid / CPR
  • ESD Awareness
  • Laser Safety
  • Work at Height Certification
  • Customer-specific network qualification programs

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of structured cabling systems including copper and fiber optic infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of Front-End Network (FENW) architecture with developing understanding of Back-End Network (BENW) infrastructure.
  • Understanding of hyperscale data center network topology.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI installation standards.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic connector types, cable construction, and network hardware.

Testing & Diagnostic Skills

  • Proficient operation of OLTS, OTDR, OPM, and VFL testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret OTDR traces and identify common failure conditions.
  • Ability to perform Permanent Link testing utilizing One Jumper Reference methodology.
  • Ability to interpret customer loss budget requirements.
  • Working knowledge of BERT testing terminology and performance thresholds.
  • Ability to identify contamination, polarity, routing, and installation deficiencies.

Documentation & Systems Proficiency

  • Ability to generate complete native testing files and PDF reports.
  • Strong documentation discipline supporting activation readiness and customer acceptance.
  • Ability to maintain calibration records and testing documentation.
