Job Responsibilities
- Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Reads and applies part specifications, work instructions, routings and process control plan prints, to determine dimensions, tolerances and number of parts.
- Changes and records tooling as specified on tool change charts.
- Safely loads specified bar stock into machines.
- Works with set-up personnel and engineering to solve machine problems when necessary.
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions assuring that part is produced in accordance with specifications.
- Measures work piece dimensions using calipers, micrometers and a variety of gauges to determine accuracy of machine operation according to the process control plan.
- Performs minor tool changes between part families.
- Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
- May sort non-conforming or deviant parts.
- Performs daily preventative machine maintenance such as oiling machines.
Position Requirements
- Machine operation in a team environment.
- Knowledge/experience in machine operations, troubleshooting, use of gauging and measuring instruments, blueprint reading, and adherence to safe work environment practices.
- Attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Prior machine operation is preferred but willing to train.
- Those mechanically inclined with little to no Hydromat specific experience are encouraged to apply.
