About the role

Perform welding and line-bore work to repair and refurbish various components for customers' equipment. The line-bore work will be performed in the shop. You must be capable of welding, machining, and line boring ferrous and non-ferrous materials to tight tolerance specifications, per instructions and blueprints, utilizing a variety of machine shop equipment, including welder, portable line bore mill, manual lathe, horizontal boring mill, vertical boring mill, horizontal saw, overhead crane, forklift, and other related equipment & tooling. CNC experience is a plus but not required. Be part of getting customers back onto the jobsite and building the world around you.

Responsibilities

  • Weld and line-bore components to repair and refurbish customer equipment.
  • Work with ferrous and non-ferrous materials to tight tolerance specifications using blueprints and instructions.
  • Operate machine shop equipment, including welder, portable line bore mill, manual lathe, horizontal boring mill, vertical boring mill, horizontal saw, overhead crane, forklift, and related tooling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of welding and machine shop experience is desired, including experience performing the line-boring process, preferably in a repair or equipment maintenance-related environment.
  • Must possess and provide own hand tools (1" and below).
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and indicators.
  • Good judgment and utilization of best machining practices.
  • Attention to detail and ability to read blueprints.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting/carrying 40 lb. and pulling 50 lb.
  • Standing, sitting, and climbing up and down stairs, as well as standing, sitting, and climbing into machines.
  • Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
