About the role
Shift Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
The Hydraulic Pump Technician will perform disassembly, inspection, repair, testing, and reassembly of hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves for rebuild/repair and provide repair solutions. You will have a strong understanding of internal and external parts of hydraulic pumps and components, how they work, and proper testing and repair procedures. Responsibilities include providing lists of necessary parts and service quotes required to repair components using shop software, creating routing for each repair, and using various catalogs and online tools to generate parts lists.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, test, and reassemble hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves.
- Provide repair solutions and lists of necessary parts for repairs.
- Create service quotes and routing for each repair using shop software.
- Use catalogs and online tools to generate parts lists for repairs.
- Work independently with strong attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Use wrenches, air tools, torque wrenches, and hydraulically operated equipment (e.g., shop press/power pack).
- Read and interpret measurements using micrometers, gauges, and blueprints.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two or more years of experience with hydraulic pump and component repair and rebuild.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must own measuring tools (0-6”) and hand tools, including micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, and basic mechanical hand tools.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well independently.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting/Carrying: 40 lb. lift/carry and 50 lb. pull.
- Standing/Sitting: Up and downstairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines.
- Dexterity: Normal hand, wrist, and finger movement.
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Noise Level: Quiet in office settings; moderate to loud in other areas, with potential for sudden loud noises.
