Responsibilities

  • Aids in the daily operations of various Pharmacy Department programs and participates in audits.
  • Manages high-volume outbound calls to members, prescribers, and pharmacies regarding adherence programs.
  • Supports members in refilling medications and communicates with prescriber offices for additional refills.
  • Drafts routine reports and correspondence.
  • Supports CMS required oversight processes including rebates, EOB reports, transition reports, and Part B vs Part D.
  • Communicates with physicians, members, and pharmacies regarding formularies and prescription benefits.
  • Retrieves and provides accurate drug information.
  • Interacts with contracted Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
  • Works with internal plan departments to address pharmacy-related concerns.
  • Collaborates with compliance department to ensure Pharmacy Programs meet CMS criteria.
  • Maintains confidentiality of HMO members' information according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
  • Prior Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree in Pharmacy Tech training preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology, dosages, trade and generics, and medication therapy.
  • Positive, professional, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Chinese preferred.
  • Pharmacy Technician license required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.

Specialized Skills

  • Knowledge of pharmacy and medical nomenclature/terminology.
  • Common medication dosages and therapy application.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

  • Regularly talks, hears, sits, uses hands to manipulate office equipment, stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaches with hands and arms.
  • Frequent lifting and moving up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay and Benefits
