Amazon LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

About the role

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be part of a team of experts working on the development of advanced satellite systems. You will own or contribute to the design and optimization of circuitry for satellite systems, create proof-of-concept prototypes for next-generation satellite hardware, and collaborate closely with radiation, power, mechanical, thermal, RF, and software teams. Your responsibilities will include designing automated test systems and fixtures, leading bring-up and qualification test campaigns, and reviewing PCB layouts.

At Amazon, hardware engineers work alongside senior electrical engineers to support the design, debug, validation, and optimization of products from concept through production, gaining exposure to the complete design lifecycle.

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of industrial experience, especially in board-level analog/digital design
  • 1+ years of experience in high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
  • 2+ years of experience using schematic capture tools
  • 2+ years of experience using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence layout tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Master of Science or PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering
  • Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op-amps, filters, etc.)
  • Experience in design, implementation, bring-up, and debugging of proof-of-concept hardware and prototypes
  • Familiarity with power supply design
  • Proficiency in developing programs for instrument control

Pay

USA, WA, Redmond - $117,300.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually
